The Fiscal Services Unit is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial affairs of the Indio Police Department. Responsibilities include the monitoring of the departmental budget, grant programs, contracts, and coordinating the submittal of employee timesheets and invoices to the City’s Finance Department.

Budget

The Department’s Administrative Services Officer supports the Office of the Chief by monitoring of the Police Department’s annual budget of over $28 million. Staff responsibilities include, but are not limited to, monitoring expenditures for compliance with the Department’s annual budget and preparation of grant and special revenue staff reports for City Council review and approval.

Purchasing, Accounts Payable & Timekeeping

The Police Department’s Accounting Technician is responsible for accounts payable functions within the Department. These includes reviewing and processing invoices received by the Department, reconciling goods, processing and reconciling petty cash budget; ordering office supplies and reviewing, finalizing, and preparing employee timesheets.
